Several passengers were injured on Monday morning after a speeding vehicle reportedly crashed into two commercial tricycles along Ipaja Road in Lagos.
The accident occurred around 8:50 a.m. near the Federal Bus Stop area, causing panic among commuters and motorists in the busy corridor.
How the Lagos Accident Happened
Eyewitnesses at the scene said the driver of a Honda vehicle allegedly lost control while attempting to avoid a sanitation worker believed to be carrying out cleaning duties along the roadside.
According to accounts from residents and commuters, the vehicle reportedly struck the worker before crossing into the opposite lane and colliding with two commercial tricycles.
The impact left multiple passengers injured and temporarily disrupted traffic movement in the area.
Victims Sustained Various Injuries
Sources at the scene disclosed that about 10 passengers inside the affected tricycles sustained different degrees of injuries during the crash.
Some victims reportedly suffered serious injuries, while others escaped with minor wounds.
Emergency responders and bystanders quickly moved the injured passengers to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment before some were later transferred to a teaching hospital in Ikeja for further care.
Security Agencies Respond to Scene
Police officers, traffic management officials, and local security personnel were seen coordinating rescue operations and controlling traffic around the accident scene.
