The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has explained why candidates are unable to print their 2026 UTME original result slips.
JAMB said the printing portal has not yet been activated because the board is still concluding important examination processes.
Why 2026 UTME Original Result Slips Are Delayed
JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in a statement released on Tuesday.
According to the board, the delay in releasing the 2026 UTME original result slips is connected to the completion of foreign examinations.
JAMB also said preparations are ongoing for the mop-up examination for candidates who missed the main examination through no fault of theirs.
The board urged candidates waiting for the 2026 UTME original result slips to remain patient.
JAMB Says UTME Is a Ranking Examination
JAMB explained that the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination is a ranking examination.
The board stated that the 2026 UTME original result slips contain candidates’ rankings and must only be released after all examination processes are completed.
According to Fabian Benjamin, all necessary adjustments must be finalised before the printing portal can be activated.
Candidates to Be Informed After Portal Activation
JAMB assured candidates that the portal for printing the 2026 UTME original result slips would be activated soon.
The board said candidates would receive official information once the process is completed.
JAMB also apologised to candidates and stakeholders for the delay.
Candidates Express Concerns Over Delay
Some candidates have expressed concerns online over the delay in accessing the 2026 UTME original result slips.
Many said they need the slips for post-UTME screening, admission processing, and change of institution or course applications.
JAMB had earlier introduced SMS result checking for candidates using their registered phone numbers.
The development comes shortly after the board announced 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for university admission in 2026.
