New Emir of Kagarko Suleiman Sa’ad Abubakar after appointment by Kaduna State Government

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Suleiman Sa’ad Abubakar as the new Emir of Kagarko.

The appointment followed the death of the former monarch, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, who passed away in January 2026 after six years on the throne.

New Emir of Kagarko Emerges After Selection Process

The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Sadiq Mamman Lagos.

According to the statement, the new Emir of Kagarko emerged after a selection exercise conducted by the kingmakers of the Kagarko Emirate Council.

The government said several contenders participated in the process before Suleiman Sa’ad Abubakar was eventually selected for the throne.

Before his appointment, the new Emir of Kagarko held the traditional title of San Turakin Kagarko.

Kaduna Government Congratulates New Emir of Kagarko

Governor Uba Sani congratulated the new Emir of Kagarko on his emergence and urged him to promote peace, unity and development across the emirate.

The governor also encouraged the monarch to preserve the traditions and cultural heritage of the people of Kagarko Emirate.

The Kaduna State Government stated that the appointment takes immediate effect.

Formal Installation Ceremony to Be Announced

The government added that arrangements for the official installation ceremony and presentation of the staff of office would be announced later.

The stool of the New Emir of Kagarko became vacant after the death of the late monarch on January 8, 2026.

The appointment marks a new phase in the leadership of the Kagarko Emirate in Kaduna State.
