Real Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella ahead of the summer transfer window.

The LaLiga giants are said to have identified Cucurella as a key addition as they continue reshaping their squad under new manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho continues squad rebuild

Since taking charge, Mourinho has focused on improving Real Madrid’s defensive structure by adding more quality and depth to the squad.

The club has already brought in defenders including Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries as part of the rebuilding process.

Cucurella is now expected to become another important addition at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Romano reports agreement

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Real Madrid have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea and the player over the proposed move.

According to Romano, Cucurella is the left-back wanted by Mourinho and the final details of the transfer are expected to be completed.

The Spanish defender is expected to leave Chelsea after the 2026 World Cup.

Chelsea defender set for new challenge

Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton and has been an important figure for the London club.

A potential move to Real Madrid would represent a return to Spain and a major opportunity to continue his career at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
