Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Tinubu, has rejected aspects of the recently concluded All Progressives Congress primaries in Lagos State, alleging that the exercise was manipulated in favour of a faction within the party.
The Iyaloja-General warned that she could mobilise a protest if the disputed results are not reviewed by party leaders.
Dispute Over Lagos APC Primary Results
Tinubu-Ojo spoke during a weekly meeting of market leaders and stakeholders held at her office in Alausa, Ikeja.
She specifically questioned the outcomes announced for Mushin Federal Constituency II, Agege Constituency II and Ojokoro Constituency.
According to her, the declared winners did not reflect the actual results recorded during the primary elections.
Calls for Investigation Into Primaries
The Lagos APC had earlier released the names of successful candidates for House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly tickets ahead of the 2027 elections.
However, Tinubu-Ojo urged both state and national leaders of the party to investigate the disputed contests before final ratification.
She argued that unresolved grievances could deepen internal divisions within the ruling party.
“Their Mandate Should Not Be Taken” — Tinubu-Ojo
The APC chieftain insisted that some aspirants were unfairly denied victory despite allegedly winning their constituencies.
She mentioned names including Seye Oladejo, Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo and Olotu Ojo as candidates she believes legitimately secured victory during the primaries.
“We are ready to protest because we know they won this election,” she stated.
Concerns Over APC Factional Politics
Tinubu-Ojo also expressed concern about growing rivalry between the Justice Forum and Mandate Group factions within the Lagos APC.
According to her, the increasing division could threaten party unity ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
She alleged that some politicians were switching allegiance based on perceptions surrounding Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and future political calculations.
Market Women Back Hamzat’s Ambition
The Iyaloja-General further reaffirmed the support of market women and traders for Hamzat’s governorship ambition and other APC candidates.
She argued that traders remain an important voting bloc in Lagos politics and deserve greater inclusion in governance and political appointments.
