Victor Osimhen has revealed the two defenders who gave him the toughest challenges during his football career.
The Nigerian striker, who currently plays for Galatasaray, praised both players for their strength, intelligence, and defensive quality.
During a recent interview, Osimhen named Calvin Bassey as one of the hardest defenders he has faced.
The Super Eagles forward described the Fulham defender as extremely strong and difficult to play against, especially during training sessions with the Nigerian national team.

“I will say Calvin Bassey. First of all, in training. That guy is very strong,” Osimhen said.
He added:
“I think currently he’s actually the best defender in Africa and of course one of the best defenders in the Premier League.”

Osimhen also mentioned Cristian Romero as another defender who made life difficult for him on the pitch.
The striker praised the Tottenham Hotspur defender for his intelligence and defensive awareness.
According to Osimhen, Romero gave him a difficult experience whenever they faced each other in competitive matches.
“Also, Romero of Spurs – he’s actually a very intelligent defender. He gave me a hard time when we met,” he said.
