A 26-year-old Ghanaian lawyer, Sarah Araba Tettey, has died after reportedly collapsing while celebrating Ghana’s victory over Panama at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
The incident happened on Wednesday at Standard Hostel, a private hostel in Bomso, near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Tettey, who studied law at the university, was watching the match with friends when she suddenly collapsed during the celebrations that followed Ghana’s win.
Friends rushed her to hospital
Reports from Ghanaian media said she was immediately taken to a hospital, where medical professionals attempted to save her life.
However, she was later confirmed dead.
Tettey was called to the Ghana Bar earlier in the year and was practising law with O & A Legal Consult.
