A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Ned Nwoko, has vowed to challenge the outcome of the party’s senatorial primary in court, insisting that the process was not properly conducted.
Nwoko made the statement during an interview on Arise Television, where he maintained that available ward-level results showed he was the rightful winner of the exercise.
Nwoko Rejects APC Senatorial Primary Result
The Delta North senatorial aspirant rejected the declaration of former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the winner of the primary.
He argued that the results announced did not reflect the actual votes cast across wards during the exercise.
According to him, the process was disrupted by sudden directives that altered how results were to be handled.
Allegations of Altered Result Collation Process
Nwoko explained that midway through the primary election, party officials allegedly instructed that no ward-level results should be announced immediately.
He claimed the directive required all results to be collected and later announced at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
“We have submitted them. Halfway through the primary, we got a message on our phones that no results should be announced at the ward level,” he said.

The APC chieftain insisted that he would seek legal redress to challenge the outcome of the exercise.
He maintained that he was confident in the evidence he had gathered from ward-level voting processes.
Nwoko also expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu would intervene in the dispute to ensure fairness within the party process.
“I will go to court and I believe that President Bola Tinubu will wade into the matter,” he added.
Rising Internal Tensions in APC Primaries
The dispute adds to ongoing tensions within the ruling party over internal election processes and candidate selection ahead of future polls.
Political observers say the case may further highlight concerns about transparency and trust in party primaries.
