Youths Disrupt Event Over Alleged Poor Representation

“Youths boo Abia lawmaker Alozie Munachim during political event”

Alozie Munachim, the lawmaker representing Obingwa, Osisioma and Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency in Abia State, was booed by youths during a political gathering in Obingwa on Thursday.

The incident happened while the Labour Party representative attempted to address supporters and residents at the event.

According to eyewitness accounts, some youths openly accused the federal lawmaker of poor performance and inadequate representation in the National Assembly.

Crowd Interrupts Lawmaker’s Speech

As the politician began speaking, sections of the crowd repeatedly interrupted him with chants demanding change in leadership.

The protesting youths claimed they had not felt the impact of his representation despite his time in office.

Videos from the event circulating online showed the crowd shouting and refusing to allow the lawmaker complete his speech peacefully.

Despite attempts to calm the situation, the atmosphere reportedly remained tense throughout the event.

Supporters Defend Labour Party Lawmaker

Supporters of Alozie Munachim later condemned the actions of the protesting youths, describing the disruption as unnecessary and capable of causing violence.

One of the lawmaker’s supporters, Kenneth Nzube, said the crowd’s reaction was provocative but praised the politician for remaining calm during the incident.

He stated that the federal lawmaker handled the situation peacefully despite the hostility from some attendees.

Political Tension Builds Ahead Of Elections

The incident adds to growing political tension in parts of Abia State ahead of future elections, with constituents increasingly demanding accountability and visible development projects from elected officials.

Political observers say public dissatisfaction and direct confrontations at political gatherings are becoming more common as voters push for better representation and improved governance.
