Norway striker Erling Haaland has identified France as the team he believes could win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Manchester City forward made the prediction after helping Norway secure a 3-2 victory over Senegal in their latest tournament fixture.
Haaland scored twice in the match as Norway booked their place in the knockout stage.
Norway prepares for France clash
Following their qualification, Norway will now face France in their final group match.
Both teams currently sit on six points in Group I, setting up a highly anticipated encounter between two strong sides.
Speaking after Norway’s win, Haaland admitted that France are among the favourites to lift the trophy.
“They’re probably going to win against us, they’re probably going to win the whole tournament,” Haaland said while discussing the upcoming match.
France remain among favourites
France have been considered one of the leading contenders for the World Cup due to their squad depth and recent performances on the international stage.
