Every year, millions of candidates sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination conducted by Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, but only a few emerge with exceptional scores.
From 2013 to 2026, several candidates have set remarkable records in the computer-based test era of the UTME.

2026 UTME highest scorer
Owoeye Daniella Jesudunsin – 372
Owoeye Daniella Jesudunsin from Ekiti State emerged as the highest scorer in the 2026 UTME with 372 out of 400.
She selected the University of Lagos to study Medicine and Surgery.
2025 UTME all-time record
Okeke Chinedu Christian – 374
Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State recorded 374 out of 400 in the 2025 UTME.
According to JAMB, the score remains the highest recorded since the introduction of the computer-based testing system in 2013.
2024 UTME highest scorers
Three candidates shared the top position in 2024 with identical scores of 367.

2023 UTME highest scorer
Umeh Kamsiyochukwu Nkechinyere – 360
Umeh Kamsiyochukwu Nkechinyere from Anambra State scored 360 to top the 2023 examination.
She later received a scholarship from Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
2022 UTME highest scorer
Adebayo Eyimofe Oluwatofunmi – 362
The Ekiti State candidate emerged as the top scorer in 2022 with 362.
2021 UTME highest scorer
Monwuba Chibuzo Chibuikem – 358
Monwuba Chibuzo Chibuikem scored 358 in the 2021 UTME and later studied engineering in the United States.
2020 UTME highest scorer
Maduafokwa Egoagwuagwu Agnes – 365
Maduafokwa Egoagwuagwu Agnes from Anambra State scored 365.
Her result remained the highest UTME score in the CBT era until 2025.
2019 UTME highest scorer
Ezeunala Ekene Franklin – 347
Ezeunala Ekene Franklin scored 347 at the age of 15, becoming one of the youngest top scorers in UTME history.
2018 UTME highest scorer
Galadima Israel Zakari – 364
The Borno State candidate recorded one of the highest scores of the CBT era with 364.
2017 UTME highest scorer
Akingbulugbe Precious Ayomide – 353
Akingbulugbe Precious Ayomide emerged as the highest scorer in 2017 with 353.
2016 UTME highest scorers
Two candidates shared the top spot in 2016 with 359 each.

Onomejoh Princewill topped the 2014 UTME with 299 and later graduated with a first-class degree from the University of Benin.
2013 UTME highest scorer
Olise Israel Chukwunalu – 299
Olise Israel Chukwunalu became the pioneer highest scorer of the CBT era in 2013 with 299.
He later studied Medicine and Surgery at the University of Ibadan.
UTME highest scores continue to rise
An analysis of the results shows that top UTME scores have improved significantly since the CBT era began in 2013.
The highest score increased from 299 in 2013 to a record 374 in 2025, reflecting growing competition among candidates across Nigeria.
