The Christian Association of Nigeria chairman in Taraba State has spoken out over rising insecurity.
The Taraba violence Easter CAN chairman message condemned the killings in affected communities.
Williams Peter Awoshiri described the situation as tragic and unacceptable.
He raised concerns over attacks in Takum and Donga areas of the state.
According to him, the violence has led to loss of lives and destruction of property.
He urged residents to embrace peace, unity and tolerance.The cleric said Easter is a time for reflection and spiritual renewal.
He explained that the season symbolises hope, victory and new beginnings.
Awoshiri called on all groups to promote peaceful coexistence.
He stressed that differences in religion and ethnicity should not cause division.
The CAN chairman also urged those involved in the crisis to choose dialogue instead of violence.
He appealed for justice and understanding among communities.
Awoshiri commended the efforts of security agencies and the state government.
However, he called for stronger and more consistent action to restore peace.
He also appealed for support for displaced persons affected by the crisis.According to him, victims need food, medical supplies and other basic needs.
The message ended with a call for reconciliation and healing across Taraba State.
He expressed hope that peace and stability will return to the affected areas.
