The CityBoy Movement has denied reports circulating on social media that allegedly attributed controversial religious comments to its patron, Seyi Tinubu.
In a statement released on Monday, the group described the viral publication as fake and deliberately designed to mislead Nigerians and provoke religious division.
The statement was signed by the Deputy Director-General for Communication and Public Affairs of the movement, O’tega Ogra.
According to the group, the publication allegedly authored by one “Albaabu Abudulahi” falsely claimed that Seyi Tinubu made blasphemous comments regarding Almighty God and the 2027 presidential election.
The movement strongly denied the allegation, insisting that no such statement was ever made.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Barr. Seyi Tinubu did not make the statement credited to him. The attribution is entirely false, malicious in intent, reckless in circulation and dangerous in consequence,” the statement read.
The CityBoy Movement described Seyi Tinubu as a man of strong faith who respects the supremacy of God.
The group added that he believes leadership and authority come only through God’s grace and permission.
It further stressed that although Seyi Tinubu remains committed to supporting the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, he has never placed politics above religion or faith.
“He has never insulted, mocked, questioned or diminished the supremacy of Almighty God or Allah, and will never do so,” the statement added.
The movement also warned Nigerians against spreading unverified information online.
According to the group, the viral post was part of a calculated effort by individuals seeking to damage Seyi Tinubu’s public image and create unnecessary tension.
It urged members of the public, journalists and social media users to verify information properly before sharing or publishing sensitive claims.
