The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has fixed Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the conduct of the 2026 UTME mop-up examination.
The board said the exercise is for candidates affected by technical challenges, biometric verification issues, and withdrawn results during the main examination period.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communications Adviser, Fabian Benjamin.
Candidates Eligible for Mop-Up Examination
According to JAMB, the 2026 UTME mop-up examination is strictly for candidates who completed registration and biometric verification but could not sit for the examination due to disruptions.
The affected categories include candidates from centres that experienced technical failures, candidates who could not be verified biometrically, and those whose results were withdrawn over alleged examination infractions.
JAMB explained that the exercise is aimed at resolving all outstanding issues connected to the 2026 UTME process.
JAMB Describes Mop-Up as Final Phase
The examination body stated that the 2026 UTME mop-up examination represents the final stage of the yearly admission test.
According to the board, no further opportunity will be provided after the mop-up exercise.
JAMB urged all affected candidates to strictly comply with instructions and make adequate preparations ahead of the examination date.
Candidates To Print Notification Slips From June 6The board announced that affected candidates can begin printing their examination notification slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026.
Candidates are expected to confirm their examination centres and make necessary travel and logistical arrangements before the examination day.
JAMB added that early preparation would help candidates avoid last-minute difficulties.
Technical Challenges Affected Main UTME
The board recalled that the main 2026 UTME was conducted between April 16 and April 25, 2026.
However, some centres reportedly experienced technical glitches and biometric verification challenges during the exercise.
The 2026 UTME mop-up examination is expected to officially conclude the examination cycle before institutions begin admission processing.
Cut-Off Marks Already Announced
Earlier, JAMB conducted its 2026 policy meeting where minimum admission benchmarks were approved.
The board fixed 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for universities and colleges of nursing, while polytechnics received a benchmark of 100.
Institutions, however, still have the authority to set higher admission requirements for competitive courses.
