University of Calabar has announced details of its UNICAL convocation 2026, with 10,820 students set to graduate.
The announcement was made by Vice-Chancellor Offiong Offiong during a press conference.
UNICAL convocation 2026 breakdown
A total of 10,820 students will graduate across different programmes.
- 152 diploma holders
- 9,173 first degree graduates
- 1,495 postgraduate students
Out of the first degree graduates:
- 52 earned first-class honours
- 2,390 made second-class upper
- 5,819 made second-class lower
- 666 got third class
- 246 had pass
PhD and special events
The Vice-Chancellor revealed that 463 PhD students will graduate.
A gala night will be held for PhD graduands and supervisors.
The event is scheduled for May 10, 2026.
Honorary degrees and lecture
Bassey Otu and two others will receive honorary doctorate degrees.
A special lecture will also be delivered by Garba Ayodeji Wahab.
The lecture topic focuses on national security and the role of universities.
