Turkish football analyst Serdar Ali Çelikler has explained why many European clubs may find it difficult to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray during the summer transfer window.
Osimhen has enjoyed an impressive spell at Galatasaray, scoring consistently and becoming one of the club’s most important players. His performances have attracted attention from top European sides, including Arsenal and Real Madrid.
Despite the growing interest, Çelikler believes the financial demands involved in signing the Nigerian forward could prevent a transfer from happening soon.
Speaking on the Neo Spor YouTube channel, the Turkish pundit said the overall cost of the deal would be too high for most European clubs.
According to him, any club interested in Osimhen would need to pay a huge transfer fee alongside a very high salary package.
“No club in Europe would want to spend around €150 million in transfer costs and also pay a massive salary package for Osimhen,” Çelikler reportedly said.
He added that a transfer could only become realistic if the fee is reduced significantly and the striker agrees to lower salary demands.
The football analyst suggested that clubs may only proceed if the transfer fee falls within the range of €75 million to €100 million, with a more manageable salary structure.
Çelikler also stated that Osimhen could remain at Galatasaray until the end of his current contract if no suitable offer arrives.
The Nigerian international still has several years remaining on his deal with the Turkish giants, with his contract reportedly running until 2029.
Osimhen remains one of the most sought-after African strikers in world football due to his goal-scoring ability, pace, and strong attacking presence.
